The Color of Everything” by Cory Richards — The only thing I love more than books are mountains and “The Color of Everything” by Cory Richards is a book, not just about mountains but a brutal yet hopeful memoir about mental health.
This book was difficult. Not because it was difficult writing - the writing was beautiful and accessible - but difficult because Cory touches on so many painful emotions I’m sure all of us experience at one time or another.
He writes like a poet - having lived the majority of his life adventuring - he has climbed the worlds highest mountains - traveled far and wide to crazy places all the while documenting his journey with a camera. His photographs are famous and hard to forget once you have seen them - he has chronicled his own terrible but epic journey through various addictions, painful familial relationships, heartbreak in love having been both the heartbreaker and the heartbroken - … Sometimes I thought to myself while reading - “oh - maybe you shouldn’t have shared that” but he goes there unflinchingly.
This incredible book comes out in July and is available for Pre-Order everywhere you can buy books. I highly recommend that you put this one on your list.
