There has been a bit of a gap in this blog. For the last two years, I’ve been focusing on my Instagram and growing it slowly and authentically, trying to learn what “Bookstagram” is all about — all while trying to read as many good books as possible.
Recently, I thought I would revisit this blog. I struggled so hard with it the last time, but I wanted to see if it was something I could tackle joyfully.
We shall see.
I have so many reading goals. I have so many creative and physical goals.
I will share some of them here now…
In the coming months, I will be training to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with my 24-year-old son, Jack. Last year, I trekked to Everest Base Camp (solo with a team). It was the best experience of my entire life. I’m 56 and have some health issues, but I’m hoping that my will to do these hard things will help my health and my heart.
I hope to continue to grow my Bookstagram authentically. I LOVE the community I have there. The book-loving community is quite like the hiking community. All good people who love a bit of whimsy and romance. We love a good quest — whether it’s from an armchair or by strapping on our boots and hitting the dirt.
I hope to journal daily, creatively, in the spirit of Peter Beard.
I hope to work on all of the important relationships in my life and work toward securing my future.
Finally, I hope to read LOTS of books. I have a pretty big list going. I will post it soon.
I’m out of room on my bookshelves, so I’ll be making some trips to the library or will have to lighten my book load to make room for new books. Not a bad problem to have.
Anyway, I hope you’ll join me here at The First Paragraph. This will be a place for musings, dreaming, documenting, and motivation.
Loads of love and peace to you all.
