Anne Rice…the Vampires and Witches

Anne Rice wrote Interview with the Vampire in 1976 but I did not discover her until 1990 and once I did, my love and obsession with her writing started a chain reaction that has continued to grow to this day and I’m certain will continue for the rest of my life.

I had to read everything and began collecting first editions. They are the ones you see here in this photograph. At one time, I had First Editions (not first printings) of almost every single one of her books but one sad day in early 2000’s I grew frustrated with the Biblical direction her writing had taken and did not love any of the Vampire books after Tale of the Body Thief and I gave them all away…I do regret that now that she is gone.

Her writing is rich Gothic Fiction, Erotica and Biblical. Her writing traces her journey through life - birth, death - re-birth…

Her settings are a love affair with places…New Orleans, Paris, San Francisco…

My favorite…Tale of the Body Thief and The Witching Hour. Masterpieces in Gothic Fiction.

There will never be anyone like her.
